LEVC Black Cab Plug-In Grant Available Into 2026

The UK Government has confirmed it will continue to make a grant of £4,000 available to taxi drivers in the purchase of an LEVC TX Taxi until 2026.
Announced as part of a £120m boost in funding for the Plug-In Grant scheme, the initiative was due to come to an end in April of this year, but this has now been extended into 2026.
The scheme aims to encourage business owners and taxi professionals to convert to an electric vehicle, a purchase the government will contribute £4,000 towards on LEVC TX black cab models.
Future of Roads Minister, Lilian Greenwood, said: “From van drivers and businesses, to drivers with accessibility needs, bikers and cabbies, today we are making it easier, faster and cheaper for people to switch to electric vehicles.
“By making the transition to zero emissions a success, we’re helping to drive growth all over the UK, putting more money in people’s pockets and rebuilding Britain to deliver our Plan for Change.”
The LEVC TX Taxi Range on The Taxi Centre
The Taxi Centre currently offers two electric-powered LEVC TX variants: Icon and Vista.
Both make use of LEVC’s eCity technology, which combines electric power with a 1.5-litre petrol engine (known as a Range Extender). The LEVC TX Electric Taxi can be driven up to 78 miles as a pure EV alone, but with its total flexible range when assisted by the petrol engine is upwards of 333 miles.
