Discover the MG Electric Taxi Line-Up
From the MG4, to the MG5 and ZS – there's something for everyone.
Thinking of making the switch to an electric taxi? Enter the MG electric taxi range. The diverse line-up includes hatchback, estate, and SUV taxis, catering to a wide range of needs.
We’re looking at each model in more detail to help you discover the right one for you.
MG4 EV
Starting with the smallest model in the range, the MG4 EV is a great taxi choice if you mostly operate within city centres. The electric hatchback offers a generous range of up to 323 miles (WLTP), so there’s no need to worry about having to charge too often.
If you do need to charge, the SE and Trophy Long Range trims offer fast charging from 10-80% in 35 minutes using a 150kW charger. As well as SE and Trophy Long Range, there are two other trims available – SE Long Range and Trophy Extended Range.
We’ve broken down some of the standard features for each trim below:
SE & SE Long Range
- MG Pilot
- 10.25” colour touchscreen
- iSMART user app
- 7” full digital driver information display
- Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- Android Auto
Trophy Long Range & Extended Range (in addition to SE)
- 360-degree parking camera
- iSMART live services
- Wireless mobile phone charger
- Satellite navigation
- Heated front seats and steering wheel
- Mobile phone Bluetooth key
While you might not regularly be doing the airport run, you might still be picking passengers up who have shopping or small pieces of luggage. The MG4 EV accommodates this and more with up to 363 litres of boot space, increased to 1,177 litres when the rear seats aren’t in place.
MG5 EV
Estate cars are a great choice for taxi drivers and the MG5 EV is exactly that. Now in its second generation, the electric estate car offers a range of up to 250 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
To charge the battery from 10-80% using a 50kW fast charger, you can expect to be back on the road in around 60 minutes. While a full charge can be reached in 10.5 hours using a 7kW domestic charger.
Two trim levels are available on the MG5 EV – SE Long Range and Trophy Long Range. Explore some of the standard features for each below.

If you need some extra space, up to 1,367 litres of luggage space is available when the rear seats are folded down.
MG ZS EV
The largest model in the MG taxi range is the ZS SUV. If you need plenty of passenger and luggage space, this is the electric MG taxi for you.
Offering a range of up to 273 miles (WLTP), you can charge the battery from 10-80% in around 42 minutes using a 100kW rapid charger. If you are local to Dundee, you’ll find plenty of rapid charging points at the Myrekirk EV Hub to minimise downtime on the road.

You can choose from four trims on the MG ZS EV – SE, SE Long Range, Trophy and Trophy Long Range. Each is equipped with a range of features to make every journey for you and your passengers seamless.

MG electric taxi running costs
Whichever model you choose, you can benefit from lower running costs with all MG electric taxis. In addition to this, you’ll be exempt from any charges in Low Emission and Clean Air Zones (CAZ) which can be costly if your taxi isn’t compliant.
As electric taxis have fewer moving parts than their petrol or diesel counterparts, servicing costs will also be cheaper.
