Volkswagen ID.3
If you mainly operate your taxi within city centres, the Volkswagen ID.3 is a great choice.
The small electric taxi is equipped with the choice of a 58kWh battery or 77kWh battery. The 58kWh battery offers up to 268 miles range (WLTP), while the latter offers up to 356 miles (WLTP).
In terms of charging times, the 58kWh battery can be charged in just over six hours using an 11kW charger or 35 minutes using a DC 100kW charger. Whereas the 77kWh battery can be charged in around seven and a half hours using an 11kW charger or 38 minutes using a DC fast charger.
As well as lower servicing costs, and no road tax, the Volkswagen ID.3 taxi is also exempt from any charges in Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and Clean Air Zones (CAZ). As more cities introduce these zones, you can save a lot of money being exempt from charges.
Step inside the Volkswagen ID.3 and there’s plenty of smart technology to make every journey run smoothly. Features vary based on the trim level, but these include:

It offers a choice of three trim levels – the entry-level Life, Elegance, and the top-of-the-range R-Line. This means you can tailor the specs of your Volkswagen Passat taxi to your needs.
Regardless of which trim level you choose, the Passat is equipped with a 1.5-litre petrol engine with fuel economy ranging from 50mpg to 51.8mpg. You also get an automatic transmission as standard so you can sit back and relax without manually changing gears.

Volkswagen Caddy Maxi
One of the biggest models in the Volkswagen range, the Caddy Maxi is an extremely versatile taxi.
There are two engine sizes on offer – a 1.5-litre petrol engine, or 2.0-litre diesel engine. You can also choose between a manual or automatic transmission. Fuel economy ranges from 41mpg to 57mpg, depending on the engine type you choose.
Inside the interior, there’s space for up to seven passengers, with up to 446 litres of luggage space when all seats are in place. To keep everybody safe from slamming doors, you can choose power latching which secures the rear doors and tailgate.
